Backgrounds

I've learned some new things about Adobe Photoshop with this assignment - and about its uncomfortable and awkward brother that is Adobe Illustrator. The results are not pleasant to look at, but I've learned new things. The most important one is: i shouldn't waste time with Illustrator again.

These backgrounds were provided to us by our tutor in order to exercise Photoshop coloring on them. It sounds like googoogaga baby job to color between the lines, but doing it digitally is different.

Adding shadows, using layers, selections, and lit parts on the background, i seem to have failed with the nigh time version of this background as the reflecting light on the trees and plants is one of a daytime.
Below you shall see one of my many shames that i would refuse showing to anyone, but i must for academic purposes. This abomination created in Adobe Illustrator looks like it was actually made in Paint (which it isn't). Illustrator has a more collage way of working unlike Photoshop, a method i found uncomfortable.
I'd rather take pride in other primitive, conceptual sketches I've done before starting to use Illustrator.
